Partnership sees 50,000 Hygiene Packs for Meals on Wheels customers nationally

Meals on Wheels has partnered with RB and Woolworths to provide up to 50,000 Hygiene Packs to Meals on Wheels customers.

Meals on Wheels customers around Australia will receive a complimentary Hygiene Pack in the coming months from their local volunteer, as a result of the latest Meals on Wheels Australia partnership with RB and Woolworths. You can find out how you can get involved in this initiative by supporting the donation of a Hygiene Pack to a Meals on Wheels customer living in your local community, and check if you are eligible to receive a Hygiene Pack in the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) below.

Please note: It is the intention of Meals on Wheels, RB and Woolworths to provide Hygiene Packs to as many Meals on Wheels customers as possible, however, in some instances it may not be logistically possible to provide a Hygiene Pack to some customers. If this relates to your local Meals on Wheels service, we will reach out and let them know as soon as the information becomes available.

These packs will also be available to Meals on Wheels customers who commenced their meal delivery service prior to the 24th of March 2021.

FAQs for Volunteers

When will I get these packs and how do I get them to my customers?

In the coming months, the Meals on Wheels head office will provide selected volunteers with pre-loaded Everyday Rewards Cards. Once they have these cards, volunteers will be able to use these to collect products for the Hygiene Packs from their local Woolworths store.

Volunteers are to collect the participating products directly from the shelf before taking them to the check-out where the cost of the products will be discounted by using the special Everyday Rewards Card provided. Volunteers can then put the products in re-useable ‘Bag for Good’ bags to take with them on their regular deliveries.

What products do I need to collect at Woolworths to go inside the Hygiene Packs?

Each Hygiene Pack includes:

  • Glen 20 Surface Spray Disinfectant, Original, 300g
  • Pine O Cleen Wipes, Lemon, 120 pack
  • Pine O Cleen Multipurpose Spray, Apple, 750ml
  • Pine O Cleen Disinfectant Gel, Lemon, 400ml
  • Woolworths ‘Bag for Good’ (re-usable green bag)

You will need to locate the above items and the quantities you require at your local Woolworths store, take them to the check-out and use the pre-loaded Everyday Rewards Card to ‘purchase’ the products. These will be discounted automatically.

Please note, the discount will not work for other products so be sure to collect the correct products, fragrances and sizes.

I went in-store to collect the products I need for my customers’ Hygiene Packs but some of the products weren’t available. What do I do?

We’re sorry to hear this has happened. Unfortunately, you may have to wait a little and return to the store to collect the products once they are back in stock. If you live near another Woolworths store, you can also consider giving them a try. Please contact the Meals on Wheels team via [email protected] and we will do our best to help you.

There are no Woolworths stores located in close proximity to our service. Will we still have access to these packs to deliver to our customers?

Our intention is to be able to work with our partners to provide these Hygiene Packs to as many Meals on Wheels customers as possible, however, some geographical circumstances may mean that it is not logistically possible for us to provide a pack to some customers. Please contact the Meals on Wheels team via [email protected] and we will review your situation.

I tried to use the Everyday Rewards Card I was provided to access the Hygiene Packs for my customers but when I went to Woolworths it didn’t work. What should I do?

We’re sorry to hear this! Please contact the Meals on Wheels team via [email protected] and we will do our best to help you.

My Everyday Rewards Card does not have enough Hygiene Packs, meaning some of my customers will miss out. Is it possible to have more added?

We definitely don’t want any of your customers to miss out! Please contact the Meals on Wheels team via [email protected] and we will do our best to help you.

Am I able to get a pack for myself?

Unfortunately, Meals on Wheels volunteers do not qualify for a Hygiene Pack. The primary purpose of this initiative is to equip vulnerable Australians with disinfectant products that will help them to keep surfaces in the home as germ and virus-free as possible during this time.
